The Dedza District Football Association (DDFA) has rescheduled the 2024 Saint Louis High School Dedza District Football League prize presentation. Initially set for Saturday, March 29, 2025, the event will now take place on either Monday or Tuesday next week, depending on the official date of the Eid Ul Fitr public holiday.
DDFA General Secretary Chiku Watson Babu confirmed the change to Wa Mpira, stating that some officials from Saint Louis High School will be occupied with other commitments on March 29.
“Our sponsor requested the change to ensure that everyone at the school, including the Director, is present for the ceremony,” Babu explained.
He emphasized that the Director’s attendance is a positive development, as the association has been engaging the school’s management in discussions about increasing sponsorship for the upcoming season.
“We have been in talks with the school’s management regarding a new sponsorship package, and based on previous trends, we are hopeful they will announce an increment during the event,” he added.
Recently, the school’s acting Head Teacher, Joel Mugululuka, confirmed that Saint Louis High School will continue sponsoring the league in the 2025 season. However, he did not disclose the exact amount, as discussions are still ongoing. According to the Ministry of Local Government, Unity, and Culture, Eid Ul Fitr prayers will be held on either Monday or Tuesday, depending on the sighting of the new moon marking the end of Ramadan. The final confirmation will come from the Muslim Association of Malawi
