The Directorate of Road Traffic and Safety Services says it is impressed with with the way Kabaza operators have welcomed the initiative of registering and obtaining driving licenses in Dedza.
This is according the Transport Officer at the Directorate Gomezani Gondwe in an interview with Bembeke Online.
Gondwe has however; urged other motor cycle operators to join the cause for the reduction of road accidents.
In response Dedza Kabaza Association General Secretary Robert Ramsesi commended the Directorate for the initiative.
He has also encouraged all motor bike oparators to obtain driving licenses for them to be conversant with the traffic rules and regulations saying they were located a six-month grace period in 2026 and they remain with 2 months.
Over 1100 people have so far joined the move with over 700 being registered in the system, over 400 waiting for learners license and 27 already obtained their driving license since the inception of the initiative in 2023.
